When No One’s Buying: Why Self-Trust Sells More Than Any Strategy
You know those moments when you question your whole business?
When you’ve poured in so much love and effort… and still, nothing really moves?
You start wondering if there’s a missing key.
And you’re tired of looking for it.
The Truth About What’s Happening Right Now
Online business doesn’t feel the same anymore, does it?
Some complain about another algorithm change.
Others hope for 20 people in their launch and sign 4.
DMs are full of polite “not right now” messages.
And yes, that can sting.
You feel rejected, deflated, maybe even scared you’ll have to go back to corporate someday.
But here’s what I want you to know:
It’s not just you.
Buyer trust is lower than ever.
Too many people have been burned by poor coaching, overpriced programs, or empty promises.
Add a tricky economy, and it makes sense that people hesitate.
But here’s the thing: while some coaches complain about reach and engagement,
others are quietly having their best months ever.
So what’s the difference?
What “Low Trust” Really Means
A few years ago, selling online was easy.
Create a few modules, write a shiny sales page, and people would buy.
That era is over.
Today’s audience wants depth, authenticity, and connection.
They can sense the difference between content that comes from your soul… and content that comes from ChatGPT.
AI is incredible for many things (I use it daily).
But when it replaces you, the human behind the business, people feel it.
If all you share sounds like a robot, your potential clients might think:
“Why would I pay for this? I could just ask ChatGPT myself.”
In a low-trust environment, your biggest asset is your energy.
People buy from those who feel safe, grounded, and real.
And that comes from one thing: self-trust.
When you trust yourself – your offer, your value, your presence – others can lean on that trust, too.
The Hurt Is Part of Building Capacity
So how do you trust yourself when business feels slow and disappointing?
Here’s the truth: being an entrepreneur means getting hurt sometimes.
You’ll launch things that flop.
You’ll get ghosted in DMs.
You’ll make investments that don’t pay off right away.
That’s not failure. It’s training. And very much part of the deal.
Every disappointment stretches what you can hold.
It builds capacity in your nervous system.
Because you can only hold as much success as your system can safely handle.
So when things get muddy, don’t run from it.
Regulate, reflect, and return.
This is what I teach my clients every day: how to recover faster from setbacks,
grow their emotional capacity,
and build a business that actually feels like freedom.
You get to keep going.
And: that’s leadership. For yourself, and for your clients.
Self-Trust Is the Real Sales Strategy
Self-trust shows up in tiny ways in everything you do.
When your nervous system feels unsafe, it looks like this:
→ 37 tabs open.
→ Doing ten things at once.
→ Thinking you trust yourself, but actually operating in fight-or-flight.
You don’t need to “try harder.”
You need to feel safer.
Start small:
Take a walk.
Place your hand on your heart.
Take a deep belly breath.
Notice your body before you open another tab.
When your system feels calm, you write content that flows.
You connect with potential clients from a calm, loving place.
And that energy sells for you.
It feels paradoxical,
but you sell best when you don’t feel the need to.
Slow seasons are part of having your own business.
I like to think of them as invitations.
To pause, to grow, and to build the trust that keeps your people coming back.
Every time you regulate and return, you strengthen your inner safety.
And through that, the trust people feel in you grows, too.
Keep going, even when it’s muddy.
Because every pause you take now is preparing you for what’s next.
